Cork Past and Present

Explore Cork's rich history with Cork Past and Present - a service of Cork City Libraries

Cork Past and Present | Corcaigh Inné is Inniu

As Cork City Libraries continues with the redesign of the Cork Past and Present website we can now bring you a modified collection of Local Studies material, representing the most popular items sought by our users and that which provides information on Cork's history, culture, places, people, and events.

There are 6 collections available to browse on the site- Genealogy, Maps, Images, Street Directories, Goad Plans of Cork City and Texts. The texts include Crofton Croker Correspondence and Ye Mayoral Booke of Thomas Pembrock 1733.

The collections are organised in such a way as to bring a better user experience, on a more updated platform. All items are available to browse and search.

We are currently working on the addition of a Cork Music Archive section. The initial collections in this section will be available to view in January 2025.

Thank you for your patience during the downtime while we were redesigning the website. We will continue to build on the collections with a focus on refining and enriching both the collections and the user experience. For now, we hope you enjoy the browse and search of the new and growing Cork Past and Present
