Summer Opening Hours

There will be no evening openings at Cork City Libraries during the months of July and August.  All branches of Cork City Libraries will close at 5.30 pm during this time.  Evening openings will resume from 04 September as normal.    


Rory Gallagher Music Library 1978 - 2018

The Rory Gallagher Music Library is celebrating 40 years of service to the music loving public of Cork, 40 years of pleasure and enjoyment by library users.  Memorabilia from the family collection of the internationally renowned Cork musician will be on display in the City Library from 05 July to the 31 August 2018.


AVA Short Film Library at Cork City Libraries

We are delighted to announce that the upgraded AVA Short Film library will be live from 11.00 am on Monday 25 June 2018.  31 additional titles from the 2017 Cork Film Festival (along with 24 existing titles from the 2016 Festival) will be available to view, for free, at our AVA viewing booth.  


Creative Cork Intercultural City Voices; A Cork City Libraries initiative in association with Ó Bhéal.

We are seeking Poems and Prose about living in Cork City in multiple languages, from people living in Cork who are not originally from Ireland.  For writers whose first language is not English, please submit your work in both languages to be published alongside one another.
