Kings movieWeek long lunchtime screenings of Irish language films inspired by Irish writing. Series included a film on the life of poet Nuala Ní Dhomhnaill : Taibhsí I mbéal na gaoithe; Kings, a film about the lives of Irish emigrants in London, based on the play by Jimmy Murphy; Bob Quinn’s Poitín, starring Cyril Cusack and Donal McCann, the first feature film to be made entirely in the Irish language; Na Duganna, a documentary which explores the history of the Cork docklands area and finally Amhairghín in which major Irish language poems are performed by Seamus Heaney, Nuala Ní Dhomhnaill, Séan Ó Ríordán, Padar Ó Ríada, Ronan Ó Snodaigh and others.
