On 21st May, writer and journalist Mary Leland led a tour of Cork City Libraries readers to literary sites in West Cork. The day started with a visit to Drishane House and gardens, former home of Edith Somerville. Next the group visited St. Barrahane's Church in Casteltownshend, the church where Edith Somerville played organ, and the site of the graves of Edith Somerville and Violet Martin (Ross). The group then visited Glebe Gardens just outside Baltimore.

The final stop of the day was in Timoleague where the group visited the gardens of Timoleague House, and the adjacent church. For photographs from the tour please visit our Picture Gallery page.
