Large-Print Books
Large-print books, both fiction and non fiction, are stocked in Blackpool Library. These are very popular and are very useful for readers with a visual impairment.

Audio Books
Blackpool Library has a wide variety of audio books (talking book).  These can be useful for people with a visual impairment, visual fatigue or for long journeys.

Irish Joint Fiction Reserve
Cork City Libraries actively participates in the IJFR Scheme. Participating libraries are allocated a letter of the alphabet.  Each library then holds a collection of fiction books based on the first letter of the authors surname.  Blackpool Library has been allocated the letter "S".  The "S" Collection is available for public lending on demand. 

Transit Wheelchair
A transit wheelchair is available for anyone who has difficulty getting around the library.

Housebound Service
Our Housebound Service visits borrowers in their own home every Thursday.  This service is aimed at people with mobility problems who cannot visit the library as a result.  If you would like to avail of this service please contact us at 0214924933 or for more information see here.

School Visits
Blackpool Library facilitates visits from local Primary and Secondary schools. There is a fortnightly timetable in operation for classes who wish to visit regularly. Alternatively, a class may visit less frequently for the purpose of research or to brush up on their library skills. In order to ensure the students get the best out of their experience class visits are by appointment only. Any teacher interested in this service should contact a member of staff.
